Emerging Leaders Internship Program

Emerging Leaders is a summer program that pairs motivated local students with startups for a mentored, project-based internship. You get a capable intern working on something that matters to your company. We take care of nearly everything else.
For $5,000, you get:
A well-scoped project. We work with you to define meaningful work that fits a summer internship.
Great students, already screened. We find and vet candidates so you meet people who are ready to contribute.
Support all summer. We guide your intern throughout, so you’re not managing it alone.
No paperwork. We handle HR and payroll administration for your intern.
Your intern joins a cohort of peers and receives professional and leadership development, ongoing mentorship, and access to a wide pool of mentors across the Triangle. We conclude with a showcase event open to the community.
The result is an intern who grows quickly, and a startup that gets real work done while investing in the next generation of local talent.

How It Works for Companies

Let us know what challenges or opportunities you’d like talent to address. We’ll work with you to refine ideas, set budget, and handle the matching process. You make final decision and participate in a virtual onboarding to set you up for success.

Host a highly skilled student for the duration of the program. They’ll integrate into your team and work on impactful projects.
We’ll provide you onboarding training and help set expectations with students so you’re set up for success.

Provide context and periodic feedback to help the student grow and maximize their contribution.

After the program, we encourage you to continue working with your student, whether interning during the school year or hiring them after graduation.
